Fully private 1-on-1 coaching with a certified personal trainer. All of my attention on you, your technique, and the most honest route to your goal.
Most people who join a gym in Addis Ababa don't stop going because they are lazy. They stop because nobody ever showed them what to do, how to do it, or how heavy it should feel. A plan pulled off the internet can't see your shoulders round on a press, can't tell that your knees are caving on a squat, and can't adjust when your week falls apart.
That is the whole job of a personal trainer. In a private session, 100% of my attention is on you — your form, your breathing, your load, and the decision about what you should do next week based on what your body actually did this week.
I am Mikiyas Dereje — Coach Miki, an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer with a sports science background and more than 10 years of coaching experience in Addis Ababa.
If you have never trained before, we start with movement, technique and breathing, and only add weight once your body is ready for it. You will not be thrown into a program designed for somebody else.
Long hours, meetings that overrun, energy gone by 7pm. The answer is not training more — it is training in a way that fits the week you actually have and still moves you forward.
People passing through Addis Ababa for weeks or months who don't want to lose the progress they arrived with.
If you have plateaued, the fix is usually structure and honest feedback on technique, not more effort.
The first conversation is free. We talk through your goal, your training history, any limitations, and what your week realistically looks like. Then I tell you honestly what it will take — including if the thing you want isn't going to happen on the timeline you had in mind.
If it's a fit, we book the first session. If a fat loss program, strength & conditioning or online coaching suits you better, I'll say so.
My office of appointment is on Cameroon St in Addis Ababa, around Bole — see personal training in Bole for the location and map. Sessions are arranged around your schedule and where you are based.
We start with a conversation about your goal, your training history and anything that affects how you move. Then we train — lightly at first, so I can watch how you move and set a realistic starting load.
You leave the first session knowing what your program is and why.
For most people starting out, two to three sessions a week is enough to make real progress without wrecking your recovery or your schedule. More is not automatically better — consistent is better.
We decide together based on your goal and the week you actually have.
No. That is like cleaning the house before the cleaner arrives. Your starting point is just information — we build the program from wherever you are today.
Personal training as described on this page is private 1-on-1 coaching. If you would rather train alongside a partner, message me and we'll talk about what makes sense for both of you.
Water, clothes you can move in, and shoes with a flat, stable sole. Nothing else is needed.
The first consultation is free. Tell me your goal and where you're starting from, and I'll tell you honestly what it will take.
